Nordion's GammaFIT™ Irradiator Now Commercially Available

On December 6, 2011, Nordion celebrated the commercial launch of its new Flexible Irradiation Technology (GammaFIT) modular irradiator.

First unveiled to the world at IMRP in Montreal in June 2011, GammaFIT offers minimal capital investment and designed for optimum processing and flexibility to support future growth.

“As a world leader in gamma sterilization for more than 40 years, Nordion is pleased to offer this innovative new product for our customers,” said Kevin Brooks, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Nordion. “One of the challenges new customers have when entering the sterilization business is the large initial capital investment in equipment. We believe GammaFIT addresses that gap by providing a more accessible product that can also open up new markets for us.”

GammaFIT can serve a wide range of product sterilization needs, from medical devices to food to cosmetics. It marks the first new product launch for Nordion since the company restructured in 2010...
